The Route Development Committee of Bilbao Airport informs that the Hungarian airline Wizz Air will start a new route between Bilbao and Rome on March 30. The low-cost airline will offer four weekly flights. Specifically, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

This route, in addition to being of interest for business travel, will improve, according to the company, “travel opportunities for Spanish pilgrims heading to Rome for the Jubilee 2025, as well as offering more leisure and city break options, generating a continuous flow of passengers in both directions.”

This is not the first time Wizz Air has operated to and from Bilbao Airport. It currently connects the terminal with Vienna. And also from March 30, it will resume its links to Warsaw, offering two weekly connections.

Wizz Air began operations to Spain in 2004 and currently offers a network of 95 routes from 15 airports in the country, improving connectivity and travel options for both local residents and visitors. In 2024, the airline operated more than 38,000 flights to and from Spain, carrying more than 7 million passengers.
