Easyjet announces new connection between Bilbao and Basel

The Route Development Committee of Bilbao Airport informs that Easyjet will start in summer a new route with the Swiss city of Basel. The company will operate twice a week from June until the end of the summer. Until mid-June departures will be Mondays and Fridays, and from mid-June it will operate Tuesdays and Fridays. Easyjet reports that the company is considering maintaining the route in winter if it has a positive reception.
The route between Bilbao and Basel will be served by an Airbus A320 aircraft, with capacity for 186 seats.
Basel is the third most populous city in the country, the second largest economy in Switzerland and has the highest GDP per capita in the country. It is one of the world centers of the pharmaceutical industry in terms of value, as more than 94% of the city’s exports of goods are in the chemical and pharmaceutical sectors.
It is also known as the cultural capital of Switzerland. Therefore, this destination is of interest to both business and tourist travelers.
